VLOGGING: REPASO SEMANAL MZK: PRINCE, NICK CAVE, SMASHING PUMPKINS, INTERPOL...

The pervert's guide to ideology Partie Huit/Smell to Great/Die wissen das nicht, aber sie tun es

"Whenever an ideological text says "all humanity united in brotherhood, joy and so on", you should always ask, "okay okay okay, but, are these all, really all, or is someone excluded?". I think Alex, the delinquent from A Clockwork Orange, identifies with this place of exclusion. And the great genius of Beethoven is that he literally staged this exclusion. All of a sudden, the whole tone changes into a kind of carnavalesque rhythm, it's no longer this sublime beauty.

We see this vulgar music precisely when Alex enters a shopping arcade and we can see from his movements that now he feels at home, he's like fish in the water.

Beethoven is not a cheap celebrator of the brotherhood of humanity and so on, we are one big happy family, enjoying freedom, dignity and so on.

The first part, which is falsely celebrated today, you hear it in all official events, is clearly identified with Beethoven as ideology and then, the second part tells the true story of that which disturbs the official ideology and of the failure of the official ideology to constrain it, to tame it.

This is why Beethoven was doing something which may appear difficult to do: he was already, in a purely musical work, practising critique of ideology.

If the classical ideology functioned in the way designated by Marx, in his nice formula from Capital [sic] Volume 1, "die wissen das nicht, aber sie tun es", "they don't know what they're doing but they are nonetheless doing it", cynical ideology functions in the mode of "I know very well what I'm doing but I'm still nonetheless doing it"."

3 minutes/Víctor knows it all/Ode to Sam Pt. 3

I'll always remember the day I met Sam. It was actually by night in Beijing, but probably noon on our side of the world. I didn't take pictures of her when it happened, which I regret; if there's one moment in my recent past that I would have liked to keep captured, that's the first few words I exchanged with Sam.

I invited her to come and stay with me in Barcelona 3 minutes into our introductory conversation, if my memory serves me right. When you feel it, you feel it, they say. Intuition would beat science any day, and Sam would beat you all any day, as well.

All pictures taken between 4th and 5th September 2016 around downtown Barcelona, Spain. Special thanks to Víctor, and extra special thanks to Sam Jam because she's still the most amazing human being on the Milky Way although she doesn't know yet, and we'll be friends minimum until our 80s and we have telepathy.

Breakfast in Catalonia/Spanish Robbin on a bike trip to Málaga

I'm usually not the one to easily fall for hyperbolic statements and dialectical traps of the like, but sometimes I wonder what would happen if Robbin grew just a tiny bit more wholesome than he already is, just a little lovelier. What would become of this world if we added some more sugar and spice to an already perfectly seasoned mix? Is there a possibility of that not turning out well? Would Earth implode? Would Robbin explode? Would we reach peak humanity and subsequently start dying on a massive scale? Can people ever be "too good"? Is "too good" too scary? Is everything that is worth doing worth overdoing? Isn't it obvious that it is? Why isn't it? When did having a pretty fucking well-rounded brain become so subversive? When did excellence turn poor and underground? When did Robbins stop being rulers? When did the best of us lose faith in the rest of us? Stop this life please, I'm getting off here.

All pictures taken between 11th and 12th of August 2017 around an average small town, the FGC and downtown Barcelona, Spain. Special thanks to Guillermous, and extra special thanks to Robbin for not only being an American communist, but also an example to our whole race. He also looks exactly like his mother and owns the most unreliable pink Japanese bike in the world, which just adds to his overall awesomeness.

Not until I heard it from Felisa Memuero in a recited poem had I considered how imperative the need for a universal right to be a monster is. Even the right to self-determination, which suddenly became so fashionable these days, pales in comparison to that of the legitimate individual monstrosity. Because one's own mother country, whatever they say, exists only, at most and not always, on our identity cards, kept inside a purse, tucked away in a bag or loose pocket. But me, I have to wear this mutant face of mine every day in the life, at all times, since I came out of my mother's cunt till the day I get back inside my own, more or less at everybody else's eye level, almost on their breath. Should not the immediacy with which unknown normals can learn about my abnormality, the absolute impossibility of hiding from them, be a matter of much greater urgency in the legislative agenda? If I was to be asked on national TV, I would say yes, it should. And yet here we are, having to go to Sor Rita to get the kind of dirty looks that both the Constitution and the Declaration of Human Rights should already guarantee that I get.

Happy birthday and thanks, oh, Sor Rita, conceived with sin.
